Client:

Ocean Enterprises

Project:

Short Documentary Film (in collaboration with 506 Studio)

Problem:

Ocean Enterprises wanted to capture and share an inspiring real-life story through film. The challenge was to portray the journey of two former U.S. Marines, both double amputees, who had found therapy and healing through scuba diving. Despite their similar paths, Jessy and Josh had never met — creating the opportunity to document their first encounter and their powerful shared experience.

Solution:

Black Market collaborated with 506 Studio, led by Emmy Award–winning video journalist Michael G. Mora, to produce a short documentary that combined raw emotion with cinematic storytelling. The film highlighted:

  • The first meeting and interview of Jessy and Josh

  • Their individual journeys of resilience through diving

  • Their foundations, each dedicated to helping fellow Marines in unique ways

Result:

The documentary not only captured an authentic and emotional story of healing, courage, and connection, but also earned industry recognition. Submitted to the Telly Awards, the film won, validating the impact of the narrative and the quality of the production.

From story to screen — a Telly Award–winning documentary.
